When should you visit Los Cabos?

Los Cabos is one of those fantastic vacation destinations where you can have a great time all year round. The climate is good almost every day and there are always amazing activities to engage in.
However, you may prefer to travel at one season or another depending on what your favorite attraction is or on the particular activity you are into. So, when should you visit Los Cabos?

The high season in Los Cabos runs from mid-December to Easter Week in April. Generally, hotels are overcrowded at this time of year and prices are at their peak.  This is exactly the time you must be there if what you want is to enjoy the awesome whale-watching tours, hiking or boating; the ocean and sea waters are a bit cold for diving and snorkeling, though. Prices are highest at Christmas and New Years Eve and it’s truly hard to find accommodation by this time, so you should book at least two months in advance to get your room at a better rate. By mid-March students head to Los Cabos to enjoy their Spring Break and by late February and March, a superb carnival takes place in the cities.

If you prefer to avoid the high season, May and June are the perfect months for your visit. At this time, winter crowds have gone home and the stormy season is yet to come. Temperatures are ideal during these months and never surpass the 85°F. If you start your hotel search by late winter, you can get incredible offers online. If you’re interested in fishing, you can enjoy the International Game Fish Association Offshore Championship Tournament by mid May. Also, by the end of June and early July you can witness the 4-day Annual Stars & Stripes Fishing and Golf Tournament.

The low season starts in July and lasts until mid November. From July to September temperatures rise up to 90°F and humidity strikes the area. In September, there may be chances of an occasional tropical storm or a hurricane, so you may be seduced by the summertime discounts, which are truly juicy. By the end of July and beginning of August anglers have the chance to participate in the Bisbee’s East Cape Offhsore held in Buenavista. In August, Los Cabos Summer Dive Fiesta attracts visitors from all over the world to Cabo Pulmo, where celebrations last for a week.

The shoulder season takes place in October and November. These months are also great for traveling to Baja California. Temperatures are not so high and if you book your hotel room in advance you can still get a moderate rate for it. October is a hot month in Los Cabos for anglers. By mid October, they can enjoy the popular Los Cabos Billfish Tournament, and by the end of October they can take part in the Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore Tournament-where anglers compete for marlin, dorado and tuna- and the Bisbee’s Black and Blue Marlin Tournament- which boasts a huge cash prize for the record marlin. In November you can go for the Tuna Jackpot Tournament, but you’ll surely need to book your package well in advance because the area starts to overcrowd again. The high season’s back!

So, depending on your interest, you can visit Los Cabos at one time of year or another. Nevertheless, as I see it, the best time for being in Los Cabos is every day.
