Sunbathing and Snorkeling in Yelapa

A little village home to about 500 thousand inhabitants that exudes the charm of  traditional island in the Pacific Ocean, Yelapa is a tranquil and calm shelter for those who are seeking a very informal lifestyle. Here there are no cars, there is only one paved pedestrian street and electricity arrived to the village only 10 years ago. An entire community of hippies, artists and local inhabitants consider this place their true home. Take a long walk or ride on a horseback to a refreshing cascade. As you ride you will pass through the Artesanos de Palo de Rosa de Javier, where you will be able to purchase salad bowls, rolling pins, vases, chopsticks and many other products created in the palo de rosa that is cultivated locally.  Back on the golden beach you can buy a slice of coconut, lemon pie or chocolate pie from one of the sellers who balance on top of their heads their home-made candies in plastic containers. Or you can
take delight in fresh shellfish in one of the restaurants that are located over the beach.
